There are a number of major side effect that many women with breast cancer experience when undergoing chemotherapy treatment. These include, but aren't limited to:
FATIGUE - NAUSEA - SENSITIVITY TO SMELLS - DRY SKIN & BRITTLE, DISCOLOURED NAILS - MOUTH SORES - CONSTIPATION - DIARRHEA - CHANGES IN TASTE OF FOOD
Brigitte Davlut, a friend of Rethink Breast Cancer who underwent chemotherapy, put together a product guide in an effort to help women mitigate the effects of treatment.
Brigitte's suggestions are based on weeks of research, discussion with other young women with breast cancer, and her own trial and error. While this guide began as a personal reference for herself and also for friends going through chemo treatment, Rethink Breast Cancer is pleased to make this resource available to all women undergoing treatment for breast cancer.
With the goal of finding products that are tolerable during chemotherapy, Brigitte used several criteria for each. Conscious of the fatigue that accompanies treatment, she chose products with multi purposes wherever possible to save both time and energy, that have little or ideally no scent, that are gentle, extremely moisturizing, and alcohol-free.
We hope Brigitte's recommendations* help you or someone you know and love, find comfort during chemotherapy treatment.
