PYNK
Lost in the labyrinth of breast cancer?
A PYNK nurse may be all you need.
PYNK, at Toronto’s Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, offers young women with breast cancer and their families the opportunity to be guided through their entire journey by a highly specialized nurse. She acts as a kind of systems navigator for young women with breast cancer, ensuring that her patients receive a continuum of promising new treatments and care, from diagnosis through recovery and long-term follow-up. She also coordinates appointments and tests and provides expert advice on available resources. A PYNK nurse navigator assesses each patient at her initial visit. Everything else follows from there, including fast-tracked referrals to fertility clinics and genetic counseling/testing if necessary.
Don’t let confusion stifle your breast cancer journey. Take advantage of PYNK, the first program of its kind in Canada.
