Canswer Hive: The Ritual of Losing Your Hair

THIS IS THE CANSWER HIVE – TIPS AND INSIGHTS SHARED DIRECTLY FROM RETHINK’S YOUNG WOMEN’S NETWORK (RYWN)

Losing your hair due to cancer treatments is as hard and personal as it gets for young women. As a patient, you may have already had breast surgery and feel a loss due to a new body. You definitely feel sick because of the chemotherapy and now have to deal with being bald, which is a reminder that you are a cancer patient every time you look in the mirror. Many women feel that their hair is a part of their identity and femininity. There is also a loss of control because there is no choosing when it comes to this new look. We asked our community of women what their hair loss ritual was and how they took back the control.
