Dr. Kim Cullen is a Clinical and Health Psychologist, and sex therapist who works with a diverse range of client concerns including mood and anxiety disorders, relationship difficulties, gender and sexuality, women’s health, and life transitions. Kim is especially passionate about supporting individuals and couples facing challenges with intimacy as a result of illness, pain, and altered mobility/ability, particularly in the context of cancer.
In addition to her clinical work in private practice, Kim is frequently invited as an expert speaker on the topic of sex and cancer, facilitates workshops and retreats, and provides support and education to health care providers. She has also served on various sexual health and education committees, and was an expert reviewer for the Canadian Cancer Society’s informational booklet on sex, intimacy, and cancer.
Through her collaboration with Rethink, Kim has participated in panel discussions, delivered workshops at Stretch Grow Heal, and developed an educational video and blog series on sex and breast cancer. Kim hopes to empower women to openly discuss the impact of breast cancer on their sexual wellbeing and sense of self, and is an advocate for the development of accessible resources to address these issues. Kim believes in a bio-psycho-social model of care that integrates community and connection as an integral part of healing and growth.
