Swap screen time for story time and join Turning the Page on Cancer (TTPOC), the virtual read-a-thon supporting younger women living with metastatic breast cancer (MBC).
MBC, also known as stage 4, means the cancer has spread to bones, lungs, liver or brain. It’s devastating news to face. But there is hope to control the cancer with treatment and those impacted by MBC need our support to live as long as they can, as well as they can.
You can help by signing up for TTPOC and join us in the virtual read-a-thon taking place during Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October.
The story behind TTPOC
At just 26 years old, Samantha Mitchell was diagnosed with MBC. Drawing on her love of books, she founded TTPOC to create an event that was easily accessible and inclusive for those in treatment. The initiative has since raised over $300,000 for Rethink’s MBC Fund.
Sam passed away from MBC on July 4, 2021. TTPOC has continued in honour of Sam’s vision: literacy and raising funds to improve outcomes for those with MBC. You can help by being a part of it too.
