What do you do when you are not changing the world with philanthropic gestures?
Working towards my own fitness goals and helping other people do so. When I was a kid I used to always get sick, since then health and fitness became my #1 passion and it has helped me become the healthiest version of myself. Now thankfully I get to work on my own health and fitness goals and help my clients do the same everyday at Fit Factory Fitness.
What is one thing you have re-thought in your life? How did you approach it?
I always wonder what life would be like if my family hadn’t immigrated to Toronto, and we had moved to San Francisco or Sydney instead. However, when I think of all the people I’ve met, the education and healthcare I’ve received, I’m thankful and proud to be a Canadian. And I mean, where else can you find better maple syrup?
What is the most important thing to know when it comes to donating to a cause?
It doesn’t have to be a lot, just do what you can. Giving is receiving! Think about how you’ve felt guilty for accepting a big gift, you will never feel that way when you give. You feel proud and accomplished.
A person who gives back that you aspire to:
Leonardo Dicaprio. I’m big on climate change and protecting the environment so I respect his dedication, passion and commitment to bringing that awareness to the world and taking massive action everyday out of his busy life to make an impact. I don’t know any actor that is as passionate about anything outside of film as he is.
How do you find a cause you are passionate about?
It has to be something that you relate to. Something you want to make a difference in.
What is innovative about the Rethink approach?
Rethink’s dedication to bringing awareness to young women is extremely important in the prevention of breast cancer. Breast Cancer isn’t at the forefront of young women’s minds when they are busy building their careers and life. But Rethink does a fabulous job bringing awareness through their fun and creative initiatives and events.
What inspires you daily?
My health inspires me. To be able to wake up every morning to be able to breath, see, listen, taste, touch, walk and think is truly a gift. I feel inspired to go out everyday and make a difference, even if it is just to put a smile on someone’s face.
Why should people support a cause they are passionate about?
To give back, giving is receiving. It’s not about how much money you can donate. To me it’s more about making a difference, and creating a positive outlook. Finding what your passion is, being excited about it, and taking action on that passion is the best feeling in the world.
When I give back I feel a sense of gratitude.
