The conversations about cancer don’t have to be limited to doctor’s offices or phone calls with friends: in the ever-growing podcast world, cancer-centric audio is easily accessible and on the rise.
We’ve rounded up five of the most informative and entertaining cancer-themed podcasts on the market right now, suitable for any mood you might be in.
You, Me and the Big C hails from the United Kingdom’s BBC studios and is funny, fresh and relatable. All of the hosts have some sort of relationship to cancer, and are able to converse with each other and their guests in a raw and real manner. There’s a diverse range of episodes, including ones on dating and intimacy, food, childhood cancer and death. The episodes are typically at least an hour, so if longform, conversational podcasts are your thing, this one’s for you.

As the title suggests, Cancer Mom is a podcast for mothers (and fathers) who are connected to cancer. You can probably think of it less as a podcast and more like sitting in on the best support group you’ve ever had. The host details her day-to-day life having a child with cancer, but she also rants and raves about community, appearances and friendship.

Stupid Cancer Show ran for 11 years with 400+ episodes centred around young adult cancer. Even though the show ended in 2016, the tone still feels progressive, with topics ranging from cannabis to politics. Issues relevant to many women really stand out, too, like pregnancy during cancer treatment and how to approach HR at a workplace. It’s safe to say this podcast has it all and then some.
